By popular demand, the Colby Center for Dance will again offer a one
week Summer Program to give young dancers and their families a chance
to “try” dance at our school for one week by participating
in a “Beginning Dance Camp.” There will be at least one
instructor per ten children. Classes will be structured for children
without previous training, but everyone is welcome and anyone with
two or less years of training will be benefit from the camp!
AGES
3-4 AND AGES 5-6
will receive five hours of instruction concluding with a brief “end
of camp” show and awarding of “graduation certificates”
on Friday for parents, friends, and families. Each dancer will also
receive a Colby Center Dance Bag with leotard, tights, ballet shoes,
and tap shoes ... everything they will need for the week (and for
the year, if they continue at our school)! Dancers should arrive 30-45
minutes early on Monday so they can be fitted and then dressed by
their parents for class. Classes will introduce children to ballet,
tap, and jazz, but will primarily focus on coordination, large motor
skills development, musical awareness, rhythm, spatial awareness,
and listening skills. The total cost is $139 which must be paid in
full at the time of registration. The fee is non-refundable because
we will be purchasing dancewear, shoes, and contracting with our teachers
based on registrations!
AGES
7-12

short juice/drink break) concluding with a brief “end of camp”
show and awarding of “graduation certificates” on Friday
at 4:30pm for parents, friends, and families. Each dancer will also
receive a Colby Center Dance Bag with leotard, tights, ballet shoes,
and tap shoes ... everything they will need for the week - and for
the year, if they continue at our school (except jazz shoes)!!! Dancers
should arrive 30-45 minutes early on Monday so they can be fitted
and then get dressed for class. Classes will include ballet, tap,
jazz, and simple acrobatics and tumbling on mats. The total cost is
$199 which must be paid in full at the time of registration. The fee
is non-refundable because we will be purchasing dancewear, shoes,
and contracting with our teachers based on registrations!
