Being a JCD absolutely prepared me to be a professional dancer because what we learned as JCDs was how to be great all-around dancers and how to act in a good professional way, not how to win a trophy by doing the same dance over and over until it is perfect like some places do. If there is a secret to my success, it was watching dancers from other good studios hour after hour at each competition. Competing also brought so many opportunities to make friends with people from around the country. In the last four years, I have traveled across the world only to take the stage with the same people who were my competitors or were judging my performances.

Every year there will be one or two people who just don't understand what you have accomplished building such a great team and how much being part of it benefits each dancer. Eventually, they see the light or they leave. Just remember there are dozens of us who are back every year for every one or two who isn't.

What a great job at competition ... the choreography was awesome, the dancers were awesome, and the team spirit was so wonderful to watch. At Nationals in New York City, I started noticing so many things I've heard you say all year long ... Your attention to detail is much appreciated AND noticed by others as that "Special Award for Good Grooming for ALL Dances" proves!

I wanted to write to you and tell you how impressed I was with the entire bus trip to Panama City weekend! The kids all danced so great and it was a lot of fun to watch! As always, I was proud of our kids and the age-appropriate dances they performed. Not only are our dances and costumes age appropriate, but you really have the knack for picking great music! All of the music (especially the solos) seem so well suited for each child. The music never overpowered the dancer; the dancer and the music always seemed to fit together perfectly. The one thing that I was really impressed with was the responsibility level of the dancers. I was in awe of them, especially on Sunday morning. I know that many of them did not have their parents with them, yet they all were packed, dressed, make up done, eaten breakfast and on the bus at 7:30 a.m. Being a mom, I can't tell you how great it is to see such a dedication and sense of responsibility. It's such a great characteristic for all people/children to have. Thanks for being so well organized and prepared. It really showed this weekend!"
